The CIA tested drugs on people, and the Church Committee's investigators found subjects hadn't given consent. Files were ordered destroyed in 1973, but a 1977 records request turned up about 20,000 more documents.

The Senate's own history calls it covert action designed to disrupt and discredit groups and individuals the FBI saw as a threat to the social order.

The House voted 289 to 142 to let more illegally obtained evidence into court, after exempting the ATF and IRS. It died in the Senate, but the idea didn't.

ID2020 in Bangladesh
ID2020, Gavi and the Bangladesh government announced a program using birth registration and vaccination to give newborns a biometrically linked digital ID. The trade outlet covering it says the goal is proving vaccination, not tracking people. I haven't found how it turned out.
